(Upcoming) 89 Sound Art School, October 2026

Jason Clark and I are returning to 89 Sound Art School to expand on Teensy Practices for its third cohort. This round builds further on the workshop, bringing in more of the node-based tools for developing sound on the Teensy 4.1, alongside the live performance work Jason and I developed together during my residency at Sound Art Lab.

 Sound Art Lab, February - May 2026

I spent this residency working on a series of instruments built around microcontrollers: the Teensy 4.1, ATtiny85, an Arduino Uno, and a Nano. The aim was to treat these as instruments in their own right rather than prototyping tools, building out noise machines, granular effects, loopers, and ring mod, and comb filtering that could run live and be played by hand.

Alongside the building, I developed a series of performances drawing on no-input mixing, but reworked for multiple Teensys running against each other, each one processing and feeding back into the others. I also taught Teensy Practices at the 89 Sound Art School during this time, a workshop on building instruments, pedals, and loopers with microcontrollers, working with participants through the same territory I was exploring in the studio.

The residency also gave me space to finish a follow-up album to the project I started in Struer the year before, and I closed the period with performances of Footwork 313 at Institute for X in Aarhus and as well as Spot Festival.

Baltic Analog Lab, January 2026

During my time at BAL, I've been concentrating on experimental composition and sound design, employing both digital and analog methods to extract and deconstruct textures and rhythms. I've been sampling sounds from the modular gear at BAL and applying various generative techniques in Ableton to manipulate those recordings. This process is culminating in a live performance featuring ten original songs that I've created during my residency here
